H&H Autumn Show 2024
Galloway cattle were in high demand at the Autumn Sale at Carlisle Mart, the flagship venue of Harrison and Hetherington. The event was marked by a sense of optimism, with five new purchasers making their debut in the breed, signalling continued interest and confidence in Galloways.
Ayr Show 2024
James and John Graham, Burnbank, Blair Drummond, Stirling and Dennis Gall, Lockerbie clinched the any other native breed Championship with Blackcraig Noreen D1321, this Nucamp of Balgray sired entry was bought in February at Castle Douglas for 3800gns, she is out of Blackcraig Noreen V530 and was paraded in calf.
LiveScot 2024
The pedigree calf classes at Scotland’s National Winter Show continue to go from strength to strength, showcasing a diverse range of breeds. Among the highlights was the Galloway section, which featured 10 impressive calves.
Glenkens Show 2024
Continuing their winning streak, it was Blackcraig Blondchen D1314 from John, Ann, and Iain Finlay of Blackcraig who clinched the championship award at this popular, local show.
Okehampton Show 2024
Okehampton show is always one of the best shows for stock numbers and once again there were some good cattle on show in all the breeds.
Stewartry Show 2024
The Stewartry Show enjoyed a warm and sunny day that was perfect for both exhibitors and public. Once again, the Ross Family from Romesbeoch, Shawhead, Dumfries, clinched the Galloway Champion title with their outstanding entry, Kirkstead Lea G11.
Moffat Show 2024
It was the well-known show heifer, Kirkstead Lea G11, from Jim, Selina, and Doug Ross of Romesbeoch, Shawhead, Dumfries, that claimed top honours at a sun-drenched Moffat Show. Kirkstead Lea G11 swept the competition, winning Breed Champion, Beef Champion, and Overall Champion.
Dumfries and Lockerbie Show 2024
Bright sunshine welcomed exhibitors and the public alike to the Dumfries and Lockerbie Show. The event enjoyed a remarkable turnout, with the Galloway cattle section being the largest and most prominent, showcasing an exceptional array of livestock that the South West has to offer. The Finlay Family of Blackcraig, Corsock, Castle Douglas, claimed the top award with Blackcraig Blondchen D1314.
Great Yorkshire Show 2024
The forecast had predicted rain, and it was certainly accurate. In less than favourable conditions, it was Kirkstead Lea G11 from Jim & Selina Ross, son, Doug and grandson Lloyd, Romesbeoch, Shawhead, which shone through to receive the championship and junior awards.
